I’m a Houston artist who has been exploring her identity with her feminine nature more through her personal work. I recently came back from overseas with a creation that really helped me to delve deep into my healing. I look to create art others connect to profoundly.

I’m a Garifuna, Belizean-American. I create Divine Exotic Essentials. Which is why my brand is named Divine Exotic Essentials (DEE). I’m the founder and sole artist at DEE. A woman owned, women ran luxury art decor business. By the age of 15 yrs.old I was working in a world renowned art gallery and studio and have since been fascinated and dedicated my life to the arts. Over the years as I’ve nurtured my talents, skills and education in several areas as a barber, hairstylist, fashion stylist and pro fx & celebrity makeup artist. I created DEE during the COVID Pandemic. I couldn’t find coasters that were not only beautiful, high quality and match my specific home decor. DEE funtional art decor started with our DEE coasters and have since added limited edition pieces. Like are top selling car coaster series, jewelry tray, charcuterie boards ect. All our DEE products are one of a kind, hand painted, premium quality that are the first of its kind on the market to have color changing technology like thermochromic/ photochromic on marble base, resin sealed and glow in the dark designs.

Chanel Hollowell, also known as Art by Chanel Yvonne, is a Los Angeles native, and Houston-based artist. Inspired by diverse cultural expressions, her self-taught art addresses trauma and healing. As a veteran and Qualified Mental Health Professional, Chanel integrates personal experience into her work, offering a voice through non-verbal expression and community-focused art initiatives.

As an African American abstract artist, I am passionate about exploring the world of non-representational art. I believe that art should not be limited to realistic depictions, but should instead focus on expressing emotions, ideas, and concepts through the use of color, shape, and form. In my artwork, I strive to create a visual language that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional representation. I experiment with various techniques and materials to create unique and thought-provoking compositions. My goal is to evoke a sense of curiosity and wonder in the viewer, allowing them to interpret and connect with the artwork in their own personal way. I find inspiration in the beauty of nature, the complexities of human emotions, and the ever-changing world around us. Through my abstract art, I aim to capture the essence of these experiences and translate them into visual expressions that resonate with others. Overall, my journey as an abstract artist is a continuous exploration of the limitless possibilities of artistic expression. I am constantly pushing the boundaries of my creativity and seeking new ways to communicate and connect through my artwork.

I am a local Houston artist. The main purpose behind my creative process is to promote an outlet for mental health through art therapy.
